This was an article that was posted on Yahoo today which, I believe , is pointing toward a great fulfillment of Bible prophecy . Its about a small town that is offering first time offenders a choice between jail time or going to church on Sunday. This may sound like a good idea to many Christians, and I’m sure many will support and applaud this town for its efforts to reform society, but we must not forget that, as Christians, we know that it’s not the act of going to church that saves the sin sick soul, it’s not attending the church that reforms the life. No, its Christ and his words, accepted, believed and practiced by the sincere heart that saves and transforms the life. “Sanctify them through thy truth,” Christ said, “thy Word is truth.” Its the word of God alone that sanctifies us, changes us, sets us apart my brothers and sisters. Not the church!
I was recently worshiping at a local church, and as I walked by a group of young people, I heard one start to curse and swear. That young person was in the church, he was attending the church, but that did not stop him from using profane language in the church he was attending. This young person heard the gospel of Christ on a regular basis no doubt, but just because he heard the sermon did not mean he accepted the message in the sermon. The outward act of religion can never change the inward condition of the spiritual man. This we must never forget, for it is this belief alone that separates Christianity from all other forms of religion. “The just shall live by faith.”
These men and women who find themselves faced with this decision of choosing jail or church will rather choose church then time locked in a 8 by 10 box with bars, away from friends and family for months or even maybe years at a time. Rather then sit in a cell, they would rather sit in a pew for an hour, listen to some good music, dance a bit, maybe even roll around on the floor, have a good old-time, then go home and watch a football or basketball game, maybe even pop a few pills and drink a few beers. And that’s the issue my friends, they are being given this choice FOR THE WRONG REASONS. They will be attending church, not because the convicting spirit of God is pulling them to its doors, but because they are being forced to do so by the legislative laws of the court. “You can go to jail, or you can go to church.”
This is a subtle ,yet blatant assault against the Constitution of our nation and the separation of Church and State. The first amendment makes it clear that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of RELIGION or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ”. By law, it will be mandatory for the first time offenders of this community, who wish not to serve time in jail, To Go To CHURCH On SUNDAY. This law is showing respect to an established sect of the Christian Religion, those who attend church on Sunday. It prohibits the free exercise of one who may be a Muslim, or a Jew from attending his or her respected place of worship on his or her respected DAY of worship. That means that the Muslim or Jew who wishes not to go to jail, yet wishes to “Worship God according to the dictates of his or her own Conscience”, must violate his or her religious beliefs if they wish no to be incarcerated.
My friend, Revelation 13:14,15 is being fulfilled before our very eyes. Within the United Stated of America, the second beast/ Kingdom of Revelation 13, an image is being formed, laws are being passed which resemble the laws that were passed by the Roman Catholic Church, the first beast/Kingdom of Revelation 13. Church and State is coming together. Laws are being passed that force religious practices on an individual and violate that individual’s freedom of worship. The chant “Go the Church or Die!” is soon to echo across the legislative halls of our great nation. Think it can’t happen? Read for yourself what the State is doing with the Church in the article above.
